Did You Know?
Did you know Leviton helped produce the bead-chain used in American GIs’ dog tags during World War II? Alongside manufacturing electrical components, Leviton played a small but meaningful role in wartime history by supplying the bead-chain that became a symbol of service and identity for millions of soldiers.

A Day in the Life – Meet Joey Kraft, Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Sustainability Officer of Leviton Network Solutions
Q&A with our President & Chief Operating Officer Executive of Leviton Canada, Jason Prevost
Q: How is Leviton Canada aligning its business strategy with long-term environmental goals?
Sustainability is a core pillar of our strategic planning at Leviton Canada. We’re committed to embedding environmentally responsible practices throughout our operations, guided by our employee-led Green Team, which is a cross-functional group that ensures sustainability is woven into our culture and decision-making.
Some of our key initiatives supported both our sustainability efforts while helping us achieve our business goals:
- Order consolidation: reduced packaging waste and transportation emissions while improving logistics efficiency and lowering costs
- Energy-efficient conveyor system enhances our operational flow and reduces energy consumption
- Electric trucks for last-mile deliveries, cut emissions, align with future-forward transportation trends, and lowered costs
- Lighting upgrades conserve energy and reduce utility expenses
- On-site composting program promotes circular practices and reduces waste disposal costs
- Employee engagement campaigns foster a culture of responsibility and innovation, driving long-term organizational value
These initiatives demonstrate that environmental responsibility and smart business strategy go hand in hand. By aligning our operations with long-term sustainability goals, we’re not only reducing our environmental footprint, but we’re also building a more resilient, efficient, and future-ready organization.
Q: How does Leviton stay ahead of regulatory changes and evolving energy standards?
We stay proactive by collaborating with industry organizations like Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) and actively participating in our Government Relations (GR) committee. These partnerships allow us to help shape policies that promote clean energy and efficiency, while keeping us informed and ahead of regulatory changes at both federal and provincial levels.
Q: How do we measure success when it comes to sustainability at Leviton Canada?
We measure sustainability success through a combination of tangible metrics and meaningful engagement. We are fully aligned with other Leviton facilities across North America, and we track our environmental impact using a centralized scorecard. This tool allows us to monitor key indicators such as emissions and energy usage, providing clear, measurable results that guide our continuous improvement efforts.
Customer interest in our sustainability practices is another key indicator; their questions and feedback show our efforts are resonating and creating value.
Internally, employee involvement is a powerful measure of success. Initiatives like our composting program were sparked by Green Team suggestions, and even casual events like office BBQs, employees actively participate in recycling and composting, showcasing our culture of environmental ownership.
Together, data, customer engagement, and employee-driven action define how we measure and achieve sustainability success.
Q: What does sustainability mean to you personally, and how does that influence your leadership at Leviton?
To me, sustainability means meeting today’s needs without compromising the future. It’s about balancing environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic performance.
As a leader, I see it as my responsibility to ensure Leviton Canada is sustainable in every sense, from business performance and employee engagement to our environmental commitments. I want to leave a legacy where Leviton Canada continues to thrive while making a positive impact in the markets and communities we serve.
We Make It Happen
We Make Quality/Sustainability Happen!
NS Glenrothes has successfully achieved re-certification for both the ISO9001 (Quality) and ISO14001 (Environmental) management standards!
Over the course of the audit, the external auditor conducted in-depth interviews with several team members each day, reviewed a wide range of documentation, and observed our processes across every area of the facility. His findings? Just one minor issue—a document received from an external supplier. That’s it.
This outcome is a powerful testament to how deeply embedded our management systems have become. It’s especially impressive given the significant changes we’ve experienced over the past year, including shifts at both the Senior Management and Functional levels. Many of the employees interviewed had only recently stepped into their new roles, yet they demonstrated remarkable competence and confidence.
Beyond the systems themselves, the auditor was also highly complementary of the professionalism and friendliness shown by the Leviton workforce throughout his visit. It’s clear that our culture of excellence and collaboration continues to shine through.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this achievement. Your dedication and hard work are what make milestones like this possible.

We Make Safety Happen!
We’re thrilled to announce a major safety milestone at our St. Petersburg facility:
Over 650 days without a workplace accident!
This achievement is more than just a number—it’s a powerful reflection of the commitment, awareness, and care each of you brings to work every single day. Safety doesn’t happen by chance. It’s built through teamwork, vigilance, and a shared responsibility for one another’s well-being.
Your dedication makes CompuLink-USA a safer, stronger place to work. Let’s keep this momentum going and continue to make safety a core part of everything we do.

Backpack Program - School Supply Drive
On August 1, a group of New Holland, PA employees volunteered at Crossnet Ministries for their backpack drive. We filled backpacks with school supplies for K – 12 students, which are distributed to members of our community in New Holland. We also helped arrange their event space for their handout event, which planned to serve 800 children and their families.
Back to School Drive
On August 13, our Melville team came together to support the United Way of Long Island’s Back to School Drive—collecting essential school supplies to help local students start the year strong.
Operation Gratitude
All U.S. Network Solutions locations collected employee-donated items for Operation Gratitude, an organization that sends care packages to U.S. service members to express gratitude and boost morale. The locations gathered up their donated items and handwritten thank you cards to ship to Operation Gratitude, which has been collecting and distributed these care packages for 22 years. www.operationgratitude.com

IT’s New Onboarding Process
The IT Department has launched a new onboarding process within EZ-Support to enhance the experience for new employees and streamline coordination across HR, hiring managers, and IT. This effort delivers several key benefits:
• Consolidates onboarding to one form instead of four
• Improves transparency through automated email updates for hiring managers
• Ensures faster, and more accurate, delivery of IT equipment and account setup
• Stronger collaboration between HR, IT, and department managers
The new process is already receiving positive feedback, with plans to expand the rollout to additional locations in the coming months.

Leviton Goes Green - Earth Day Cleanup
On Friday, April 25th, employees from the Lighting & Controls team rolled up their sleeves and teamed up with the City of Tualatin for a hands-on eco-mission—clearing out invasive ivy and blackberry thickets from the lush Tualatin watershed. Armed with clippers, gloves, and a shared passion for environmental stewardship, employees helped restore the natural balance of this vital local ecosystem, one vine at a time.

Morganton Partnering with Waste Diversion Company
In early Q2, Morganton launched a pilot program with North Carolina company Zero Waste Recycling, a full-service recycling and non-hazardous waste processing facility located in Charlotte. The Leviton facility produces around 400 tons of waste each year and already they’ve diverted about half of that waste stream to recycling with this new partnership. In Q3, they will evaluate additional options to increase their diversion opportunities with Zero Waste.
A Day In The Life With Joey Kraft
How long have you been with Leviton?
It will be 16 years in December – time flies!
What is your favorite part of your job?
Being helpful, having answers and ideas, figuring out solutions.
What motivates you?
Crossing things off my to-do list, accomplishment. Creating efficiencies. Environmental responsibility and stewardship: reducing and eliminating waste, choosing items and solutions that are more sustainable, less toxic, better for health and environment. Learning and experiencing new things – places, hobbies, words/language.
What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
Working in my yard and garden – flowers, plants, vegetables, berries, apples. I’m a new beekeeper as of this past spring. Paddleboarding, volunteering on the board of a local arboretum. Spending time with my husband and our dog.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a substitute teacher and drive a VW Golf – lofty aspirations, I know. The substitute teacher idea was so that I could stay at home with my kids – strategic thinking for a grade school kid, right? I didn’t end up having kids but I did end up driving a VW Beetle for 19 years.
What are three things in your backpack or suitcase that you would like to share?
Foldable/packable water bottle (they’re the best), Carmex (I’ve used it since the 3rd grade), and a headband with Bluetooth speakers for connecting to my white noise app so that I can sleep through my (wonderful) husband’s snoring/loud breathing at night – it’s been a lifesaver!
