Quotations Specialist

About the role 

Reporting to the Pricing Manager, the quotations specialist is responsible for preparing customer quote requests accurately and in a timely manner, recording and archiving them in accordance with the procedure in place. He/she will provide reference documents to support accuracy of quotes and work closely with sales staff to ensure accuracy of information.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis to determine if the quote request should be pursued based on established criteria. If the request does not meet prequalification criteria, propose alternatives or inform customers that the quote cannot be completed.
  • Initiate the quotation process by collecting necessary information, including reviewing specifications and cross-references, once the quote request meets business criteria.
  • Ensure quotes comply with company quotation management business rules and objectives.
  • Submit and validate the quote for approval and send a copy of the approved quote to the client.
  • Under certain circumstances, once the quote is accepted, revise it based on confirmed project details, including price, quantity, and timeline.
  • Provide support to Territory Managers and Technical Support Specialists to ensure quotes align with project requirements.
  • Answer customer phone calls, resolve or offer alternatives on issues related to project quotes.
  • Encourage and maintain good relationships with customer partners to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge to support the creation of appropriate quotes (i.e., appropriate mix of products).
  • Ensure ISO standards related to the documentation of all relevant transactions and communications are applied and maintained.
  • If required, work with the Technical Controls team on the creation of the Bill of Materials, Blue Beam plans, and integrate field service costs into the quote.
  • If required, collaborate with the Technical Network Solutions team to create MTO and request costs with BerkTech or Leviton US.
  • Perform any other relevant tasks as requested by the manager, in alignment with the evolving needs and requirements of the position.

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to work and collaborate effectively in a team.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and efficiently manages time and priorities.
  • Attention to detail and precision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Knowledge ERP (i.e. Oracle) software would be an asset. 
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and technical specifications would be an asset.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written French and English. We seek an individual fluent in English to effectively communicate with contacts throughout Canada and colleagues in the United States. 

Education and Experience 

  • Completed College Diploma.
  • Electrical knowledge is an asset.
  • Technical Diploma in Electrical/Electronics is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
