Marketing Specialist

About the role 

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Specialist supports brand growth through strategic communications, digital engagement, and lead generation initiatives. This role is responsible for executing multi-channel campaigns, managing social media and advertising efforts, and maintaining consistent messaging across internal and external platforms.

Responsibilities

Communications & Content

  • Develop and distribute newsletters for distributor audiences.
  • Manage ad hoc communications for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Draft and coordinate press releases.
  • Oversee intranet updates and communications.
  • Coordinate and communicate yearly customer satisfaction surveys and reporting.

Social Media & Influencer Engagement

  • Plan and maintain the yearly social media calendar, adjusting as needed.
  • Create weekly and campaign-based content across platforms.
  • Review U.S. content for inspiration and translation opportunities.
  • Monitor and engage with messages via Sprout Social’s Smart Inbox.
  • Manage influencer relationships and employee advocacy initiatives.
  • Create and oversee Canada YouTube content strategy and updates.

Advertising & Campaigns

  • Plan and execute the annual advertising calendar.
  • Collaborate with Graphics teams to coordinate the creation of assets for ads and e-blasts.
  • Create and manage purchase orders for advertising-related invoices.
  • Manage Earth Day donation day coordination and communication.

Lead Generation & Marketing Tools

  • Develop and execute content and campaigns to support lead generation and nurturing.
  • Create and manage lead forms integrated with CRM system to ensure accurate tracking and follow-up.
  • Utilize marketing automation platforms to build workflows, segment audiences, and deliver targeted messaging.
  • Monitor campaign performance using analytics tools and optimize based on data insights.
  • Conduct A/B testing to refine content and improve engagement across ad hoc and planned campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to adapt tone and messaging for different audiences and platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with marketing platforms such as Sprout Social, CMS tools, and CRM systems.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally, with creative team, sales teams, vendors, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written. We are looking for someone proficient in English to communicate with contacts across Canada and with colleagues in the United States.

Education and Experience 

  • College diploma or university degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or digital strategy.
  • Experience with social media platforms, advertising coordination, and lead generation.
  • Hands-on experience planning and executing digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels (email, social, web, etc.).
  • Experience using analytics tools (e.g., PowerBI, Google Analytics, social media insights, CRM dashboards) to measure campaign effectiveness.
  • Experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Dynamics, Salesforce, HubSpot) and email marketing platforms (e.g., Dynamics, Mailchimp).
