Co-Location / Multi-Tenant Data Centers

Data Center Challenges

Providing facility owners network infrastructure tools to serve their tenants.

Many organizations are moving network functions to colo or multitenant data centers. For facility owners, it’s about serving their customers. For tenants and customers, it is about outsourcing and protecting their critical networks. This allows customers them to rely on the expertise of the colo facility to maximize efficiency, performance, redundancy and experience. Leviton partners with some of the largest colo and multitenant data centers in the world to provide a comprehensive suite of infrastructure for customer cages, meet-me rooms, cross-connect environments, and more.

Network security can mean two things: physical and digital. Keeping your physical connections protected from unauthorized access and accidental disconnection is critical in any facility where multiple people may have access. Keeping track of network traffic both to monitor performance and protect from intrusion and piracy is a requirement of a modern network. Fiber optic Traffic Analysis Points (TAPs) give you access to the traffic in your network, both to ensure you are getting the performance you expect, and to monitor network traffic for abnormalities or network intrusion.

In a multitenant or colo data center, tenants and customers have the benefit of being able to rely on the expertise of both the data center operators as well as infrastructure manufacturers to make sure their networks are designed with the build out, implementation and maintenance in mind. Meanwhile, they can focus on their own network requirements because the data center operator has already ensured a state-of-the-art foundation. Finally, they can scale their services up or down, and only pay for the space and power they need.
