How to Adjust the Settings on the IPHS5 Humidity Sensor & Fan Control

Watch this video to learn how to adjust the settings on the Leviton IPHS5 Humidity Sensor & Fan Control.

The device has three adjustable settings: humidity sensitivity, time adjustment, and a third setting for air cycle mode or humidity set points.

To adjust the settings, carefully remove the faceplate by pressing your thumb down on the bottom and pulling the top outward. Humidity levels in a room can vary due to factors such as seasonal changes. To avoid false activation of the fan, you can adjust the ambient humidity sensitivity by turning the dial. Turning the dial clockwise increases sensitivity, allowing the device to respond faster to lower humidity levels. Turning it counterclockwise decreases sensitivity, requiring higher humidity levels to activate the fan and reducing false triggers.

The time adjustment dial sets how long the fan remains on once activated:

  • 1 = 10 minutes
  • 2 = 20 minutes
  • 3 = 30 minutes
  • 4 = 45 minutes

If you want to use the humidity sensor for periodic ventilation in areas such as damp basements or home spas, rotate the humidistat dial clockwise to Air Cycle Mode. This setting automatically turns the fan on for a set period each hour. You then adjust the time dial to set the cycle—for example, 20 minutes on and 40 minutes off per hour.

This dial also controls the humidity set point, which is the minimum humidity level required before the fan activates. For example, if the set point is 50 and the room’s relative humidity is 30, the fan will not turn on until humidity exceeds 50. The humidistat dial is factory-set to the OFF position, which is suitable for most applications.

After adjustments, reattach the wall plate. Your Leviton IPHS5 Humidity Sensor and Fan Control is now ready for use. To learn more, visit http://www.leviton.com/humidity
