A Greener Connected Home

Leviton solutions have always stood out for their innovation and quality. We also follow strict manufacturing practices to develop products that create less waste and use less energy, as part of our commitment to environmental sustainability. This results in a reduction in your overall carbon footprint. This is true of our Connected Home line of residential networking solutions.

  • Bulk-Packs for Enclosures: Reducing Waste and Freight

Leviton Wireless STRUCTURED MEDIA™ Center enclosure bulk-packs significantly reduce packaging waste. By offering bulk-packs of 6 and 12, fewer packaging materials are used and less waste is generated onsite. Plus, more enclosures per pallet translates in to shipping efficiencies with fewer trucks on the road and less transportation emissions.

  • A Greener Choice for Powder Coating

Leviton has adopted a high-quality powder coating for metal STRUCTURED MEDIA Center enclosures that is free from volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). Additionally, this powder coating contains more post-consumer recycled plastic,  thereby reducing the amount of new plastic from virgin materials used to manufacture each STRUCTURED MEDIA Center by an equivalent of 10 to 16 plastic bottles — or approximately 1.6 million plastic bottles per year.

  • Doing More with Less

Leviton recently redesigned its Cat 6 and Cat 6A patch cords to use 72% less plastic in the cord boots. The compact 2.65 mm boot design creates a lighter cord, reducing shipping energy and costs.

Also, Leviton’s innovative Secure Snap mounting design, used with select STRUCTURED MEDIA Center accessories, eliminates the need for traditional plungers or push pins when mounting into enclosures. This streamlined one-piece design simplifies installation while reducing the use of additional product materials.
