How Leviton, Allinq, and Kannegieter Delivered a Secure, Eco-Friendly Network for the 2025 NATO Summit

The Challenge

Structured cabling infrastructure is typically designed with long-term deployment in mind, built to maintain performance for years. Yet, when world leaders gathered in The Hague for the 2025 NATO Summit, the event demanded both a temporary and ultra-reliable solution. Every cable, every connection had to meet NATO’s rigorous standards for sustainability and security, meaning they needed partners who could guarantee seamless communication, top-tier cybersecurity, and the lowest possible environmental impact — all for only a few days of employment.

The Solution

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs awarded the project to Allinq, a system integrator with a strong track record in high-security environments. Allinq managed the entire process — from planning to deployment — drawing on its deep expertise in complex telecommunications infrastructure and its focus on delivering reliable, goal-oriented results. Their commitment effectively placed the specific needs of the client at the heart of the installation. To deliver, Allinq joined forces with Leviton and Kannegieter.

To meet the summit’s sustainability and security requirements, Leviton was uniquely selected to supply the structured cabling infrastructure. What set Leviton apart was the carbon neutral status of its Network Solutions business unit, independently third-party verified. This made it the ideal partner for delivering a high-performance solution with minimal environmental impact. Furthermore, to enhance security and compliance, Leviton manufactured all cabling components in its UK-based manufacturing facility, ensuring adherence to TAA (Trade Agreements Act) regulations, an important consideration for sensitive, government-related deployments.

Like every installation, all factors needed to run like clockwork, an outcome secured via close collaboration between Leviton and Kannegieter. With a history dating back to 1959, Kannegieter combines decades of experience with cutting-edge technology to support complex infrastructure projects, and thanks to their well-established logistics and technical support capabilities, their team ensured all materials were delivered on time.

The final installation included:

    • 8 km of fiber optic cable to form the high-speed backbone of the network

    • 75 km of Augmented Category 6 S/FTP cable, offering superior shielding and performance for endpoint connections

The Impact

The successful deployment of Leviton’s structured cabling infrastructure — installed by Allinq and delivered by Kannegieter — enabled secure, uninterrupted
communication throughout the NATO Summit, while also meeting strict environmental and security standards. By using products manufactured in a carbon neutral
facility, the project aligned with NATO’s sustainability goals, proving that even temporary installations can be both high-performing and eco-conscious.

The collaboration between Leviton, Allinq, and Kannegieter brought together deep technical expertise, reliable logistics, and a shared commitment to excellence.
Allinq’s end-to-end project management, Kannegieter’s timely delivery and product knowledge, and Leviton’s UK-based, carbon neutral manufacturing combined to
deliver a robust and secure network.
