Network Solutions' North Carolina Expansion Unlocks Speed, Scale for Global Data Center Customers

Leviton Network Solutions recently completed a $25 million expansion project in its Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina manufacturing facility. The project more than doubles the size of the facility, expanding the 55,000 sq ft facility by an additional 94,000 sq ft. In addition to being the largest expansion project by Leviton since the company’s founding in 1906, this construction is a crucial investment into Network Solutions’ ability to support global demand

The Fuquay-Varina site manufactures a variety of multimode and single-mode fiber cabling products used to connect data centers, commercial enterprises, industrial and harsh environments. Pre-expansion, the Fuquay-Varina facility produced record volumes of optical fiber; 2025 and beyond, the expansion unlocks even greater production capability for Leviton, as it has scaled up the facility’s optical fiber cabling and make-to-order (MTO) assembly production as well as engineering and product testing capabilities. The facility that produced fiber optic cabling for global data center applications and building/campus backbone applications will continue to do so at greater quantities, while also supporting long-term growth in multimode cables, single-mode cables and made-to-order fiber optic cable assemblies.

Leviton expects global demand for fiber cabling systems to grow in conjunction with the adoption of artificial intelligence across industries. With AI computing clusters at the beginning of a significant ramp in growth, the need for Leviton’s full suite of fiber solutions tailored to AI networks will also rise. Our expansion of our Fuquay-Varina facility unlocks a new degree of manufacturing capacity, allowing us to fill large orders with speed and meet data center customers’ need for robust, scalable solutions.

Moreover, expanding the North Carolina factory not only develops its capacity to support US-based customers but also unlocks a greater degree of supply chain redundancy for global customers. The Fuquay-Varina facility will facilitate Leviton’s mission of shortening time-to-value for global customers, providing additional capacity and cutting lead times — all while investing in the local community. With major cable manufacturing and cable assembly facilities in North America and Europe — including a recent expansion to the company’s European make-to-order factory footprint — Leviton is in a strong position globally to support data center deployments around the world.

Leviton held a ribbon cutting event on April 9, 2025, to celebrate this milestone achievement with company executives, local government officials, and Leviton’s local employees.
