Warehouse Coordinator - Temporary Contract 18 months

About the role 

Temporary Contract 18 months
Schedule: 6:30 to 3:00 pm with occasional replacement on shift 9:30 to 6:00 pm
Reporting to the Director of Operations, Distribution the incumbent of the position of Warehouse Coordinator, is responsible for ensuring the sound administrative management of operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the workflow of order processing and receiving for warehouse staff and keeps tracking files up to date;
  • Coordinates work and supports center employees, intervenes on the warehouse floor as needed, and maintains a positive work environment with the team;
  • Controls inbound and outbound merchandise and ensures that receiving and shipping documents are compliant;
  • Acts as backup for the first-shift planner during project management activities to ensure operational needs are met;
  • Acts as backup for the second-shift Coordinator during their recovery period;
  • Communicates and coordinates delivery appointment scheduling with carriers for the evening shift;
  • Maintains regular communication with the Customer Service team to ensure effective order management and an efficient workflow;
  • Manages the center’s shared email inboxes, responds to and collaborates with all internal customers and external suppliers;
  • Prepares key performance indicator (KPI) reports on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis;
  • Identifies, documents, and analyzes various issues, then makes recommendations or implements solutions;
  • With the Warehouse Director’s approval, processes required warehouse purchases, including approvals and purchase order (PO) requests;
  • Ensures the management of the document archiving process and the updating of supplier error reports;
  • Ensures the management and follow-up of all receiving documents submitted to Accounts Payable for processing.

Success factors 

  • College diploma in distribution and logistics or equivalent experience. 
  • A minimum of two (2) years of work experience related to a distribution or logistics environment.
  • Experience in a unionized environment;
  • Experience with the principles of continuous improvement.  Knowledge of systems such as MS Office, including an advanced level of Excel, and Oracle and WMS ERP systems;
  • Bilingual (French and English / spoken and written).
