Product Marketing Manager 

About the role 

The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for managing the product lifecycle across four business units, with primary accountability for New Product Introductions (NPI) and product phase-out coordination. This role leads cross-functional collaboration between Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Product Management teams to ensure successful product launches, seamless portfolio transitions, and achievement of business objectives. The position also provides direct supervision, coaching, and development for one Product Coordinator.

Responsibilities

New Product Introductions (NPI)

  • Lead the project management of new product launches for Canada, ensuring timely and market-adapted rollouts.
  • Collaborate closely with US Product Management and Canadian Business Unit Directors to align launch strategies and conduct regular reviews.
  • Act as a cross-functional connector between Operations, Sales, Finance, and Packaging teams.
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, trends, and competitive insights to support forecasting and pricing decisions.
  • Develop and execute launch plans, including product positioning, pricing recommendations, sales training, marketing collateral, and customer communications.
  • Produce and validate the content of the monthly newsletter distributed to the sales force to announce product launches.

Customer and market focus

  • Gather and communicate Voice of Customer (VOC) insights to influence product decisions and business strategies.
  • Support key customer engagements, product presentations, and strategic business reviews as required.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, market developments, regulatory changes, and competitive activity.

Product phase-out and lifecycle management

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to develop strategies to phase out underperforming products or excess inventory.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of products, from launch to end-of-life.
  • Coordinate transition plans with internal stakeholders, distributors, and customers to ensure continuity of supply and customer satisfaction.

Sales support

  • Partner with Sales to recommend product placement, channel strategies, and promotional plans.
  • Analyze profitability margins and propose pricing or costing adjustments.
  • Gather and integrate feedback for continuous product improvement.
  • Continuous improvement and business excellence: Proactively identify opportunities to optimize processes and enhance business performance.
  • Initiate and lead projects that improve efficiency, collaboration, and execution across the organization.
  • Ensure ongoing alignment between product strategy, market needs, business objectives, and operational execution.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills
  • Excellent command of both French and English, spoken and written, with the ability to communicate across Canada and with colleagues based in the United States.
  • Strategic thinker with strong data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with solid understanding of product lifecycle management.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence in a matrix environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and ability to identify opportunities to enhance business performance.
  • Experience supervising, coaching, or mentoring employees is considered an asset.

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of product marketing, product management, marketing, or related business experience.
  • Experience managing product launches and end-of-life transitions.
