Inside Sales Specialist - Retail

About the role 

Reporting directly to the Director, Business Development - Retail, the Inside Sales Specialist supports retail and sales operations through effective project coordination and client management. Success in this role depends on organization, precision, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

  • Access and extract Leviton shipment and point-of-sale (POS) data from retail customer systems.
  • Organize, validate, and maintain large datasets, including store-level inventory and performance metrics.
  • Review in-store inventories to identify discrepancies or exceptions and escalate issues as needed.
  • Provide weekly reports on inventory status, sales performance, and KPI trends.
  • Collaborate with the replenishment team to resolve in-stock issues and improve product availability.
  • Manage all Retail client requests, including report generation and sample submissions.
  • Maintain and update the store database to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare regular analytics and performance reports on retail sales, campaign effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Oversee the execution of retail projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder coordination are met.
  • Support the sales team by responding to customer inquiries and providing accurate product and pricing information.
  • Coordinate marketing campaigns targeting retail customers, including planning, execution, and performance tracking.
  • Maintain departmental trackers and calendars to ensure visibility of key activities and deadlines.
  • Verify volume rebate calculations and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Manage and resolve disputes with retail customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist in preparing and distributing customer communications, forms, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop forecasts and monitor performance against targets.
  • Communicate fill rate performance and other key metrics to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Validate and maintain monthly scorecards for all retail customers.

Qualifications

  • Strong project management and coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of retail industry trends and best practices (preferred).
  • Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written. We are looking for someone proficient in English to communicate with contacts across Canada and with colleagues in the United States. 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the electrical industry.
