National Accounts Specialist

About the role

Reporting to the Sales Director, Central Canada and National Accounts, The National Accounts Specialist is responsible for driving sales growth within our key national clients and markets across Canada. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships at senior levels, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring the delivery of value-added solutions. This role will play a crucial part in expanding our market presence and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Business Development:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the National Accounts sector that aligns with Leviton's overall company strategy. Ensure that goals, objectives, and tactics are in sync with the broader corporate vision.
  • Develop and nurture strategic relationships with senior executives of key national accounts.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities within client portfolios to deliver value-added solutions.
  • Develop deep expertise in Leviton's product and solution offerings, aligning them with the specific needs of each vertical market.

Multi-National Development:

  • Coordinate efforts strategically between Leviton Canada, the U.S. National Strategic Accounts, and our Business Units to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment of objectives.
  • Lead national-level price negotiations with National Strategic Accounts and engage in project-specific negotiations when necessary.

Sales Management:

  • Drive overall business growth through effective team building and coordinated efforts across the organization.
  • Establish a reputation as the primary point of contact for Leviton within National Strategic Accounts.
  • Provide monthly reports to the management of the Business Unit, detailing activities, and progress with National Strategic Accounts.
  • Maintain and update a yearly list of National Strategic Accounts in collaboration with Sales Directors and Business Unit Directors.
  • Visit remote National Strategic Account locations regularly, working closely with team members to build relationships with local decision-makers, supporting LES/NS goals.
  • Conduct regular review sessions with National Strategic Accounts to monitor goal achievement, taking corrective actions as necessary.

Leadership and Coaching:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership by motivating, mentoring, and coaching the sales team to achieve targets and develop their skills.
  • Instill a proactive "hunter" approach to selling, driving the team to identify and pursue new business opportunities aggressively.
  • Lead by example, setting high standards for performance and professionalism within the team.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of Leviton products and solutions.
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Strong aptitude for developing sales strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Results and profit-oriented

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Proven experience in national account management within the electrical industry or a related field.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring employees directly under his/her supervision.
