Business Intelligence Analyst

About the role 

Reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager, the Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust BI solutions, creating insightful reports and dashboards, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity. This role involves providing analysis, insights, and information on the company’s finances, its operations, customers and pricing as well as markets, competitors and new business opportunities across all areas of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, business intelligence, and reporting. This role will involve working closely with various departments to gather, analyze, and interpret data to support business objectives. Additionally, the incumbent will develop and implement strategies to enhance knowledge sharing and intelligence dissemination among the user community, promoting data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain business intelligence solutions.
  • Play a key role in strategic and business planning by transforming relevant data into insights that inform and guide strategic decisions.
  • Partner with internal and external to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.
  • Expand BI knowledge and usage across the organization by training and supporting end-users on business intelligence tools and best practices.
  • Conduct special studies and assignments as required by the supervisor.
  • Identify and integrate essential external data, such as market and competitive intelligence.
  • Assist in the development of data models and data warehousing solutions.
  • Perform data validation and ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in various BI tools (Power Bi, Tableau).
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in various ERP systems (Oracle, SAP).
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in various CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce).
  • Expert in data management tools such as Access and Excel, with advanced skills in tables, charts, and data manipulation formulas.
  • Capable of prioritizing and balancing efforts across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding knowledge of key business objectives.
  • Excellent understanding of project management procedures.
  • Unique experience in analyzing and interpreting complex data sets.
  • Experience in creating managerial-level presentations and reports.

  • Skilled in building efficient and reliable working relationships with board members, staff, and customers.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills, able to work independently in a multifaceted and dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written French and English. We seek an individual fluent in English to effectively communicate with contacts throughout Canada and colleagues in the United States.

Education and Experience 

  • University Degree in Business Administration, or an equivalent of educational courses, such as in the field of mathematics, statistics, computer/engineering sciences.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of practical work experience.
